Welcome to my first Sophie Jones Social blog. It is so lovely to have you here! Below you can read a little bit about me, who I work with and how I can help you shine online. So without further ado, let's get to work.

Why I started Sophie Jones Social.

I love working for small businesses because I love watching things grow (which is why I have so many plants). Every sale means so much, every follow on social media is a jump for joy and every customer is like family. You just can't beat it! After roughly three years of working for an independent business in Edinburgh, I thought it was time for me to step out and help other's.

My background is varied, I studied Geography specialising in Emergency Management whilst at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. After university I worked in international logistics, moving freight around the world and realised that the freight was seeing more than I was. Before I knew it I was on a plane to London. After trying out Cardiff for a brief stint, I found Edinburgh which has now been my home for more than three years. When I arrived in Edinburgh I started working for a tea company. I developed a love for tea and for the digital side of the business. My skills have sharpened over the years and I am now ready to help other businesses connect with their audience and shine online.

Who I work with.

I specialise in helping entrepreneurs, solopreneurs and small businesses.

It does not matter where you are located as I can work with people from anywhere in the world. Having lived in New Zealand for most of my life, I am more than used to communicating with different time zones and making the best use of my time when in direct contact. This is one of the reasons I decided to help small businesses around the globe, no matter the distance.

How I can help you shine online.

When you own your own business it is tempting to do everything yourself especially because it can be expensive to outsource work. The problem is we can't all do everything. I will put my hands up and admit that I suck at bookkeeping. Which I why I invested in a bookkeeper who has saved me energy, time and stress.

Much like my bookkeeper, I am here to take a job off your hands. Whether you have nothing online yet and only ideas, have just started online or are already well established, I have three main way's that I can help you. Let's break them down:

1) Social Media

Keeping your social media going let alone growing can be daunting. It is time consuming to post everyday and most of the time across multiple channels. Sometimes you need outside help to create content, engage with your audience and schedule posts for you. Here is what I can do for you -

- Help you with content ideas that will engage your audience.

- Create a social media content plan with you.

- Write captions, schedule posts and create ad campaigns.

- Clean up your social media and get you back on track. (Re-write your bio, smarten up your highlights and help you create a theme around what you are posting.)

2) SEO

If you have a website you may have heard of 'SEO'. SEO means search engine optimisation which is basically where your website is ranked on a search engine like google. Unfortunately it is more complicated then just paying to be number 1. I can help you improve your ranking by -

- Conducting keyword research for your niche so you can seamlessly add the keywords into website copy or blogs.

- Write quality content for you like blogs which help increase your SEO.

- Sign your website up to google tools like google my business and google analytics.

3) Websites

Websites help you get your message or product out into the world. They are the gateway to you or your business. I can -

- Help you make decisions for your website such a the best website host, domain and design.

- Create and design a website for you.

- Clean up your existing website if it has been left untouched for awhile.

- Add content that you need added but don't have time to.

- Write blogs for your website.
